Personal Leave Ceiling

Introduction
Getting Started

Main Menu

Enter the personal leave ceiling as a number of hours.

By default, the maximum number of hours of annual leave that may be carried into the new leave year is 240. There are circumstances that increase that limit for some employees. In such a case, the person has a Personal Leave Ceiling.

The Personal Leave Ceiling recorded in the T&A Profile of the last pay period of the prior leave year is used to calculate the Annual Leave that is carried forward into pay period 01 of the new leave year.

The Personal Leave Ceiling for pay period 01 is then automatically modified by webTA. If the person's annual leave balance falls below their personal leave ceiling, it becomes the new value for their personal leave ceiling. If the personal leave ceiling falls to the normal value of 240 during pay period 01, it is no longer displayed.

Because the pay period 01 Annual Leave forward is calculated by webTA for in accordance with the rather complicated leave ceiling regulations, it appears as read-only on the employee’s Leave Data page. If you must manually edit it, check the Leave Ceiling Override checkbox in the T&A Profile and return to the Leave Data page. The Leave Ceiling Override checkbox only appears in the T&A Profile for pay period 01.
